About the "Upcoming" Videos functionlity.
support, ws.webtv, home, contents, clips, video, upcoming
By default, when someone visits a Clip (using its URL) which has a future date and is inactive, the WebTV will display a "Coming soon" page, with a countdown animation. This is very useful so people are aware of upcoming content.
It is worth noting that since WS.WebTV v56pf3 the aforementioned behavior was modified and it is only required a future date for a content to be considered "upcoming", regardless of its status. It is possible to modify the criteria through configuration variables. Contact us for more info.
This functionality is complemented with the use of the Scheduler extension which will allow you to automatically activate the Clip on a specific date and time. Great for live streams.
How to display "Upcoming" Clips in the WebTV?
1. By creating a "Clip List" Widget, with Status = Upcoming.
2. By creating a Menu Item with Type = Link and URL = {url.?go=index&do=upcomingvideos} ...The button will link to the "upcoming clips" list.
Remember: For WS.WebTV prior to v56pf3, the Clip must be inactive and have a future date.
3. Since WS.WebTV v56pf3 it is possible to include "Upcoming Videos" in the slider of Portals.
4. Through Embedded Widgets (in templates).
